After dealing with a bit of burnout, I'm back at it.
I'll be listing boxers waiting in California shelters a couple times a week now.
I do longer have the website www.CaliforniaBoxer.org, as it seemed a little redundant.
The boxers will now be listed on FaceBook at

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:

Bella is a beautiful 4-year-old purebred female Boxer. While Bella wasn't a big fan of the shelter, she is doing wonderfully in her foster home, which includes two resident male dogs. Since being in foster care, Bella has become a relaxed and playful girl. Her whole body wiggles when she is happy or excited. She has a moderate to low energy level and does not require a whole lot of exercise, though a daily walk is certainly warranted. Bella would do well in a home with an adult male dog or as an only pet. She needs to be in a cat-free home since she has a significant amount of prey drive. She has done very well around small children and has never shown an ounce of aggressions towards humans. Bella has a tendency to be fearful around other dogs when on walks and she reacts with lunging and barking. She is easy to control, especially when she wears a Gentle Leader head harness. Bella is not a dog park dog and should always be walked on leash. Occasionally she is stubborn about coming when called (she is a Boxer, after all) but she loves following her human around the house and cuddling on the couch. She will also wake you up in the morning with lots of kisses.
